The Density of Air, Tristan Perich’s new composition places the solo piano in a delicate sea of white noise. Forty loudspeakers will be wired to hand-built electronics and will blanket the stage, each producing barely audible durations of white noise, accumulating in drifting waves of sound.

Sharing the first concert of the Contagious Sounds Series held at Cornelia Street Cafe with IKTUS PERCUSSION, I'll be exploring a new collaboration with violinist Andie Springer, flutist Domenica Fossati, and bassist Lisa Dowling in a group we call 't8ts'. We will be performing new works by composer Stephen Feigenbaum, Liza White, and Brook Frederickson as well as solo works by David Lang, John Luther Adams, and Dan Cooper. Lisa Dowling will also be performing two original compositions for voice, bass and electronics.
